Dr. Charles M Andrews is an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Emergency Medicine. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Neurocritical Care. He is currently the program director of the Neurocritical Care fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Dr. Andrews received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati and then moved to Charleston where he completed his residency in Emergency Medicine, serving as chief resident his final year. He completed fellowship training in Neurocritical Care at MUSC. He currently practices as a full-time Neurocritical Care physician.

His primary interests are treatment and management of neurologic emergencies. He is particularly interested in the care of patients with intracerebral hemorrhage and has been involved in multiple clinical trials investigating the efficacy of innovative treatment modalities. He is invested in medical education serving as the Neurocritical Care fellowship director since 2014, and providing bedside education and frequent formal lectures to medical students, residents and fellows throughout the College of Medicine.
