Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is one of the major cause of Years Lived with Disability (YLD). It is extremely common among various societies and goes largely un-diagnosed due to its insidious nature and the stigma attached to its diagnosis and treatment seeker. Similar reason may apply to people with Schizophrenia and Autism. They need to be observed for about 6 months before they can be properly diagnosed. Some even goes undiagnosed at all.
